Biaudos is a rural municipality with almost 800 inhabitants.The centre is easily accessible from the RD817 and is worth a visit, especially for its recently restored gothic church and houses built from Bidache stone, typical in the southern Landes. Baudios is also home to original castles and mansions like that of the Bastarréche.
Another architectural originality, the Tilery takes its name from brick kiln.The building consist of 2 Ottoman style main parts linked together by a semicircular corn dryer. The Maillocq farm welcomes the visitors and explains traditional cattle, poultry and especially duck-rearing method.
The opportunity to become familiar with one of the jewels of the french gastronomy : Foie gras from the Landes. Stay overnight in a gîte or chambre d’hôte to benefit advantage of Biaudos’ country setting and its privileged location : Seignanx’s beaches,Bayonne and Peyrehorade are all under a quarter of an hour’s drive away.
